Mt. Hayes Natural Gas Storage Project

Owner: Terasen Gas

April, 2008 - August, 2008

Terasen Gas Inc. is constructing a 1.5 Bcf liquid natural gas (LNG) storage facility on Mt. Hayes in Cassidy, BC. The project involves access road construction, common excavation, rock excavation, tank subgrade preparation, culverts and bridges. The rock excavation requires approximately 35,000m3 of blasting. The blasting and site grading are intended to provide a completed tank containment area which will be stabilized through a pressure grouting program, dental concrete and a mass concrete infill. All of the excavated and blasted materials will be processed and reused onsite for fills on the access roads and process areas. This is the first phase of the LNG tank site construction.
